Steve Austin has been on a collision course with Bret Hart since King of the Ring 1996, when Austin cut his infamous 3:16 promo and declared war on the Hart family. Their rivalry peaked at WrestleMania 13 in one of the most brutal submission matches in history.

Austin submitted — technically — but he passed out from blood loss rather than say the words. He was carried out on a stretcher, bloody and defiant. The Chicago crowd, who came in as Bret Hart fans, left as Steve Austin fans. Everything changed in that match.
